City of Niš is one of the oldest cities in the Balkans. It is the second largest city in Serbia of more than 250.000 inhabitants, and the centre of the Southeastern region of the country. It is one of the most important industrial centres in Serbia, well-known for its industry of electronics and mechanical engineering. In 2015, the city of Niš declared advanced technologies as a key priority. The same year, the first Advanced Technology Forum in Niš was held.
